There are many artists I listen to who I feel don’t get the love or recognition they deserve. With this blog, one of my main goals is to help bring more awareness and listeners to such artists. The artist that I would like to focus on in this week’s post is Levi Turner.
Levi Turner is the first, and currently, the only artist to be signed to Zach Bryan’s label, Belting Bronco Records. In an Instagram post back in June 2023, Zach announced this and described Levi as “a man who still writes all his own songs and an artist I’ve grown to respect and care for as a person”.
Levi released his debut album, ‘Allergy Season’, consisting of 7 songs, on June 23, 2023. As of this writing, Levi has amassed 57,649 monthly listeners and a little over 10,000 followers on Spotify. Currently, his most popular song is ‘Allergy Season’ with over 1.3 million streams.
While I would recommend that everyone listen to Levi, I strongly recommend those who have tickets to Zach Bryan’s The Quittin’ Time Tour listen to him. For this tour, Levi is opening for Zach at almost every single show!
This way, if you become familiar with Levi's music, not only will you know Zach’s songs at the show, but you’ll also know Levi’s songs! Not only are you likely to enjoy the concert even more, but you’ll also be able to flex on everyone around you that you know the opener’s music too.
I started listening to Levi the day that Zach announced he had been signed to Belting Bronco Records, which was also the day that Levi’s debut album was released. Though, I do believe that I may have seen snippets of Levi playing on TikTok a few times prior to this date. I can remember clear as day that, when I saw Zach’s post that day, I immediately switched over to Spotify and started streaming Levi’s music.
I fell in love with Levi's music from the first song I listened to, which was the first song on the album, ‘Cutting the Grass’. Throughout my first time listening to the album, I found myself listening to certain songs for a second or even a third time before moving to the next one. I guess I just wanted to make sure that I had heard everything I could possibly hear when it came to those songs.
Levi’s voice and sound are unlike anything I’ve ever heard before and, upon my initial listen, I was captivated instantly. In addition to his unique voice and sound, Levi is a great, creative lyricist. He has great storytelling abilities and he truly knows how to use metaphors in his songs effectively.
I truly love Levi’s debut album in its entirety. It is definitely difficult for me to pick favorites when it comes to this album. Though, if I had to, they would be ‘Eleanor’, ‘Drunk Driving Airplanes’, and ‘Allergy Season’. Out of all the songs on this album, I find that these are the songs I add to playlists and queue up the most.
I am manifesting that Levi will come out with new music in the near future. He has teased a couple of new songs on his social media, but he hasn’t done so in a while. While there is no anticipated date for any new music from him, I am certain that his new music will be worth the wait.
I’m fortunate enough to be seeing Levi perform live at least twice this year. I have tickets to Zach’s shows in Chicago and Tulsa and I am highly considering getting tickets to his show in Little Rock. As mentioned previously, Levi will be one of the opening acts at all of these shows.
While I am excited to see Levi on The Quittin’ Time Tour this year, I hope that one day I can attend one of his own headlining shows. I have no doubt in my mind that Levi will make a great opening act but I’d love to see him play a full-length set too.
